other both more broadly, for example fun facts outside of work, and also more deeply, for example dreams and insecurities.

Picture Me!
Teams with great relationships get to know their team members beyond just the superficial. During multiple rounds of Picture Me, teams will first guess, and then learn how their team-mates love to feel, how they see themselves, and how they think people see them sometimes. So how well did you know your team-mates? Give out 3 awards: The Most Transparent, The Most Mysterious and The Most Intuitive amongst you!
Picture Me is also a great way to focus-in on getting to know particular groups of people better, e.g. all new team leaders, or all new joiners to the company. Or, you can simply let the Wheel decide!
Truth Games!
Let’s learn some fun facts and some secrets about our team-mates!
• Round 1, Where Do You Stand: This is a a non-competitive warm-up. Are you Spontaneous or Structured? Do you choose Function or Looks? Let’s find out everyone’s preferences on these and more.
• Round 2, Fact-Matching: Teams need to match facts to people in the group. Which team knows everyone the best?
• Round 3, Truth and Lies: Choose your most poker-faced team member to get the other teams to believe theunbelievable!
After 3 rounds, you will all know many more surprising things about one other!
Shape of My Heart!
These exercises are about being authentic and knowing our colleagues as a whole person.
In the first part of this exercise, individuals draw the “Shape of My Heart”. Find out what and who are most dear to our teammates. Or do “Shape of Our Heart” to find out what’s dear to the whole team.
Emotion Cards
“Emotion Cards” contain 70 key positive and negative emotions, and assist participants to share their feelings deeply across important questions, e.g:
• How they especially want their work to feel.
• The red flag emotions at work which makes them wonder if it’s time to move on. Emotion Cards often ends with Message on The Wall, where participants fill the room with
great advice and tips on constructive ways to gain the feelings they want from work, and diminish the feelings they don’t want. This is exactly what EQ is about!
Personality Profiles!
• Personality Profiling can help us understand our colleagues’, and our own, personalities better, in particular our default styles and preferences.
• Where do we prefer to focus our mental energy, the external world or our internal world?
• When taking in information, do we prefer to observe, or use our intuition?
• When making decisions, do we prioritize our thinking or our feelings?
• When we organize, do we prefer plans and structure, or to just adapt as we go along?
Before the session, everyone answers a 15-minute questionnaire (the NERIS Type Explorer from (www.16personalities.com) and submits this information to the facilitators. The session starts with a quick briefing about the 16 Personalities. Then we view how the entire group breaks down by the 16 types, including which colleague has which personality type.
And finally, based on these new learnings about themselves, participants discuss how they can become better team members, and how they would like to be supported in the future.
Deepening trust in a team depends on us getting to know, and appreciating, each team member better as the unique person that they are, and Personality Profiles is a great activity to achieve this.
Appreciations!
Feeling appreciated is essential for feeling belonging within a team. We seldom show enough appreciation for our team members at an individual level, especially the quiet contributors.
This meaningful exercise ensures that everyone will receive the Appreciations they deserve! They will also be encouraged to make a promise on how they will continue to have positive impact on the team for the next year.
A possible tag-on to the Appreciations exercise, is to also collect Developmental Feedback for every individual, and encourage commitments to be made against those as well.
Finally, this Appreciations segment can be capped with Individual Award announcements (voted
on beforehand). Categories would be unique to each company, but might include
• Sunshine Award
• Speak-Up Award
• Dark Horse Award
• Catalyst Award
• Comrade Award … and so on.
(Prize budget is
separate, and
determined by
the client)
